1 Agreement and scope
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Narrin LLC, doing business as Narrin ("Narrin," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern Narrin.io, Narrin Studio, Narrin View, related account and subscription services, downloads, updates, support, and beta or early-access versions (together, the "Services"). They also apply to plans or bundles that include either or both apps, including Essential, Complete, and Lifetime Plans where offered.
You agree to these Terms when you affirmatively accept them or use the Services after being presented with them in a manner that creates a binding agreement under applicable law. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not create an account or purchase or use the relevant Services.
These Terms describe your service relationship with Narrin. For an app obtained through the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA") governs the app software license. These Terms supplement that license and do not replace it with a custom EULA. The Standard EULA is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
2 Related policies and priority
The Narrin Privacy Policy at https://narrin.io/privacy-policy explains personal-information processing, permissions, retention, and deletion. The Narrin Refund and Cancellation Policy at https://narrin.io/refund-policy governs cancellation and refund eligibility and calculations. Purchase-specific descriptions and terms identify the product, price, included access, delivery commitments, and any additional benefits you purchased.
Mandatory law takes priority. Applicable Apple terms and Usage Rules control Apple app licensing and Apple-billed transactions. Subject to those requirements, an express purchase-specific promise controls the benefit it describes, the Refund Policy controls cancellation and refunds, and the Privacy Policy controls Narrin's stated personal-information practices. These Terms govern remaining service matters. A general disclaimer does not cancel a specific promise or a mandatory consumer right.
Agreeing to these Terms does not replace an operating-system permission request or any separate consent required by law or Apple policy.
3 Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to purchase a subscription or Lifetime Plan. The Services are not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age required by applicable law. A person below the applicable minimum age may not create a Narrin account. An adult may organize lawful family photos that include children, while respecting their privacy and applicable parental rights.
Some features require a Narrin account. Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and notify support@narrin.io of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for reasonable account-security precautions. You are not responsible under this clause for activity resulting from Narrin's failure to meet its own legal or contractual duties.
Do not sell or transfer control of an account without our authorization. Account and device limits must follow the plan you purchased and applicable platform rules. This does not restrict Family Sharing, volume purchasing, or other use permitted by Apple's applicable Usage Rules.
4 Studio View and platform availability
Studio helps you organize and enrich selected photos and related records, assign Location, Event, People, and Tags (Memory Context), and create rendered images or slideshows. View displays rendered content, including local copies used for offline slideshows. Features, supported file types, sources, devices, and operating-system requirements differ by product and version.
Narrin uses references to media in the local or cloud sources you select. Importing a reference does not by itself transfer your original photo collection to Narrin-operated storage. Account records, references, and Memory Context may nevertheless contain personal information and may be processed through Narrin's backend. Renders can contain photos and the personal information you choose to display.
A feature described as planned is not included in a purchase unless expressly promised in its offer. A purchase does not guarantee every feature on every platform. Platform limitations and material requirements are identified in the relevant listing or product documentation.
5 Software licenses and permitted use
For software distributed outside the Apple App Store, Narrin grants you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the applicable software for the purposes and period included in your valid plan. Personal, household, commercial, or institutional use is permitted only to the extent included in that plan. This does not transfer ownership of Narrin's software or intellectual property.
For Apple App Store software, the Standard EULA and Apple Usage Rules govern the license, including use on Apple-branded products you own or control and any permitted Family Sharing or volume-purchasing access. Nothing in these Terms imposes a conflicting usage restriction on that license.
Except as permitted by law, the applicable license, or an open-source license, do not redistribute, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or extract Narrin software or bypass security or entitlement controls. Applicable open-source notices and licenses control the components they cover.
6 Prices orders and payment
Before purchase, the applicable checkout or Apple purchase screen identifies the product, plan duration, price, currency, included access, renewal terms, and any trial or introductory offer. Pay authorized charges and applicable taxes. For direct purchases, provide accurate billing information and maintain a valid payment method where automatic renewal is enabled.
Apple processes Apple-billed transactions under its applicable terms. A payment made directly to Narrin remains a direct purchase even if you later use the entitlement on an Apple device, where supported and permitted. The receipt identifies the billing provider. Buying another plan does not automatically cancel an existing subscription.
If a direct order contains a material pricing or description error, we will explain the error and offer an appropriate correction or cancellation and refund rather than unilaterally charging an unapproved higher price. Existing consumer remedies remain available.
7 Apple subscriptions and refunds
For App Store downloads and in-app purchases billed by Apple, Apple's applicable billing, cancellation, refund, and price-change procedures govern. Narrin's direct annual proration and direct Lifetime Plan no-refund rules do not apply to those transactions. Narrin does not determine or guarantee Apple's refund decisions.
Manage Apple-billed subscriptions at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions/ or, on iPhone or iPad, through Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Request an Apple refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ or contact Apple Support if that process cannot handle the request.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew under the purchase terms unless canceled. Ordinary cancellation stops the next renewal and normally preserves access until the end of the paid period, subject to approved refunds, account deletion, and applicable country-specific rules. It does not automatically request a refund. For trials, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends unless Apple specifies otherwise. The offer identifies trial duration, conversion price, and any effect of cancellation on trial access.
Apple provides an immediate-cancellation and prorated-refund route through Apple Support for Germany, Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye. See https://support.apple.com/108098. The Refund Policy includes further instructions and preserves mandatory consumer rights.
Eligible Apple purchases can be restored using the relevant Apple Account and available restoration controls. A valid subscription applies across supported devices as required by Apple's rules and the purchased entitlement. Contact support@narrin.io if valid purchased access is missing.
8 Direct subscriptions and cancellation
This section applies only to subscriptions billed directly by Narrin through Narrin.io. Under the standard annual policy, the 12-month term is divided into monthly service periods measured from the start date. You may cancel at any time. Access ends at the start of the next monthly service period after your request, and unused full monthly periods are refunded. The current monthly period is not refundable under that standard policy.
The annual calculation is the actual annual subscription amount paid divided by 12, multiplied by unused full monthly service periods. Discounts, credits, and taxes are handled as described in the Refund Policy. A bundle refund applies to the bundle price; a separate valid entitlement does not end solely because another plan is canceled.
Where monthly plans are offered, direct cancellation stops the next renewal and ordinarily preserves access through the paid month, without a standard partial-month refund. Stronger statutory rights or express offer promises take priority for both monthly and annual purchases.
Use the available account billing controls or email support@narrin.io. A valid request is recorded when received, and our processing time does not shift it to a later service period. We confirm the effective date, access end date, and applicable refund. Direct auto-renewal applies only if disclosed at checkout. Nonrenewing access expires at the end of its purchased term.
9 Lifetime Plans
A Lifetime Plan is a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription. Its scope follows the offer you purchased. Unless that offer promises a different duration, lifetime means the commercial life of the applicable product or edition while it remains generally available and technically supportable, rather than the purchaser's natural lifetime.
A Lifetime Plan does not by itself include unlimited storage, perpetual cloud hosting, permanent device compatibility, or future separately sold products. Any expressly included core updates, apps, or other benefits remain part of your purchase. Narrin will not arbitrarily revoke a valid Lifetime Plan while the covered product remains commercially available.
Direct Lifetime Plan purchases are nonrefundable under the standard commercial policy, except for mandatory rights or an express offer promise. That rule does not remove remedies for non-delivery or nonconforming products. Apple-billed one-time purchases follow Apple's refund procedures instead.
10 Trials promotions and existing founder benefits
Trials and introductory offers identify duration, included features, conversion to paid access if any, the first charge, and cancellation instructions. Eligibility and redemption limits follow the applicable offer and billing provider. A complimentary benefit has no separate cash value unless the offer or law provides otherwise.
Existing Founders Club benefits, reservation credits, Kickstarter commitments, and other completed promotional purchases retain their express terms. No provision here reopens a discontinued program or removes an already promised benefit. Do not copy, sell, or fraudulently use another person's membership or redemption identifier.
Apple promotional eligibility and redemption follow Apple's rules. Credits purchased through Apple in-app purchase do not expire where Apple prohibits expiry. A website promotional credit does not itself authorize an otherwise prohibited method of unlocking an App Store app.
11 Renewals price changes and failed payment
Renewal prices and intervals are disclosed through the billing channel. For direct subscriptions, price changes apply prospectively and are notified, and consent obtained, when required by law. They do not increase a prepaid current term retroactively. Apple-billed price changes follow Apple's notice and consent procedures.
If an authorized payment fails, paid entitlements may expire or be suspended according to the relevant provider's billing status, grace period if applicable, and legal requirements. Narrin does not impose its own charge or retry rules on Apple-billed purchases. We do not collect an amount you did not authorize.
12 Ownership of your content
You retain your rights in photos, videos, captions, stories, dates, locations, events, people, tags, relationships, metadata, renders, and other content you import, create, or provide ("User Content"). Narrin does not acquire ownership merely because content is used through the Services.
You grant Narrin a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to access, store, copy, transmit, index, render, convert, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide the features you request, synchronize authorized records, maintain technical backups and security, follow your sharing instructions, and meet legal duties. This permission does not authorize unrelated advertising, AI training, or public publication of private content.
Providers acting for Narrin may process content only as needed for those services and subject to appropriate confidentiality, privacy, and security obligations. The permission ends when content is deleted, except for narrowly limited backup handling or legally required retention described in the Privacy Policy.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for the content you use and share, including appropriate authority for information about other people. Review sensitive family information before distributing it.
13 Sharing and recipient copies
You choose the content and recipients for sharing through available controls. Check permissions before creating or sending a link, render, or slideshow. Do not share content unlawfully or without necessary rights.
Recipients may retain exported or downloaded copies outside Narrin's control. Removing a link stops future access through that link but does not necessarily recall independent copies. Deleting an account removes all its associated sharing links immediately after confirmation and any required identity verification, without deleting or altering unrelated users' Libraries.
14 Privacy permissions and current processing practices
Narrin Studio and Narrin View use no on-device or third-party AI processing and include no advertising, analytics, or tracking. They do not use embedded third-party mapping services. A People record is not itself authorization for facial recognition or access to device contacts.
We use Hostinger for email, web hosting, and VPS hosting. The Privacy Policy explains the information processed through those services and the other data flows required for accounts, chosen photo sources, purchases, support, and operations.
Grant only the photo, file, source, or other permissions you choose. You may decline or revoke them through available app, device, or provider controls. Only features that need the denied access may be affected, subject to technical limitations. A location assigned to a photo does not itself authorize access to your device's current location.
If a future version introduces materially different processing, we will update the privacy notice, provide required notice, and obtain any required separate consent before that processing begins. General acceptance of these Terms does not authorize undisclosed tracking, AI transfers, or biometric processing.
15 Account deletion and retention
Initiate permanent account deletion in Studio or View through Menu → User Profile → Delete Account. We may require proportionate reauthentication and confirmation. You do not need to contact support to initiate deletion. If completion occurs on our website, the in-app control links directly to the deletion page.
Once confirmed and any required identity verification is complete, we immediately revoke login access and sessions and remove all sharing links associated with the account. We normally delete the profile, Library content, and Narrin-controlled files from active systems within 24 hours and always within 7 calendar days. We confirm completion and explain any limited retained records and backups.
Isolated backups expire within 30 days after active-system deletion. Deletion instructions are reapplied following a backup restoration, so deleted accounts and links are not reactivated. Operational logs, the minimal deletion-completion record, and necessary billing and tax records follow the specific schedule in the Privacy Policy.
The financial archive is limited to necessary accounting and legal records and cannot restore account access. Its seven-year business baseline is extended where applicable law requires longer. Retention of those records does not justify retaining the deleted photo collection or profile snapshot.
Cancellation, deletion, and refund requests are separate. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription or request an Apple refund. Manage Apple billing separately, but you may request immediate deletion while a subscription remains active. For a direct subscription, submit the applicable cancellation or refund request through the billing controls or support channel described in the Refund Policy.
16 Storage backups and access after a plan ends
Keep independent backups of originals, edits, Memory Context, database exports, and renders you wish to preserve. Narrin is not a substitute for your own archival backup. Export content before paid access ends or you delete an account.
When an entitlement ends, only the affected paid features and subscription-dependent services end; a separate valid entitlement remains subject to its own terms. Canceling a subscription does not itself delete the account. Account and content retention follow the Privacy Policy.
Deleting a reference or account does not by itself erase originals in your own photo sources or copies in storage you independently control. Remove those files through the relevant provider or device controls. Offline caches and independently downloaded copies may remain until reconnection and applicable deletion processing or local removal. Playback through Narrin depends on the available features and valid entitlements.
17 Third party services and platform terms
Comply with the applicable terms of photo-source providers, cloud-storage services, app stores, network providers, and other independent services you use with Narrin. Their availability and platform access rules may affect an integration. Do not bypass their authorization or access restrictions.
We may change an integration when its provider changes technology, terms, or availability, subject to your contractual and statutory remedies. An independent provider's own practices are governed by its terms, but this does not release Narrin from responsibility for its own processing or providers acting on its behalf.
These Terms do not guarantee that an entitlement bought on one platform can be purchased, redeemed, or used on every other platform. Any supported cross-platform access remains subject to the purchased scope and applicable app-store rules.
18 Updates availability and changes to services
We may release updates, security fixes, and compatibility changes. App Store software updates are distributed through Apple's permitted update mechanisms. Keep devices and software reasonably current and maintain the storage, network access, and supported sources required by the selected features.
Services may require maintenance and may be interrupted. Material changes to paid functionality are subject to applicable notice, consent, continued-performance, and remedy obligations. We will not use a general right to change the Services to retroactively remove an expressly promised prepaid benefit or refund right.
Where reasonably practical, we give advance notice of a material discontinuation and a reasonable opportunity to export content. Mandatory remedies for nonconforming or discontinued paid services remain available.
19 Beta and TestFlight releases
Beta and preview versions may be incomplete, unstable, time-limited, or discontinued and may require migration before a general release. Keep independent backups. The beta offer identifies any additional testing or confidentiality obligations, which cannot waive mandatory consumer rights.
TestFlight participation is free. TestFlight access is not sold or provided in exchange for compensation, including as a crowdfunding reward. Any separate purchase of a future released product is distinct from TestFlight participation and retains its stated delivery and refund commitments. TestFlight use also follows Apple's applicable terms.
Beta participation does not guarantee release of every tested feature. An App Store release must be evaluated on the functionality included in that release, rather than a promise of future beta features.
20 Acceptable use
Use the Services lawfully and respect other people's rights. Do not use them to distribute unlawful content, child sexual abuse material, malware, threats, harassment, privacy violations, or content you lack the rights to use. Do not impersonate another person, steal credentials, fraudulently redeem benefits, or interfere with the Services.
Do not gain unauthorized access, bypass security, harvest private data, resell access outside an authorized plan, or perform disruptive testing. Lawful security research and rights that cannot be restricted by contract remain subject to applicable law. Contact support@narrin.io to report suspected abuse or a security issue.
21 Intellectual property feedback and complaints
Narrin and its licensors retain rights in Narrin software, interfaces, branding, documentation, templates, and other proprietary materials. You may not reproduce or exploit them outside your license or legal permissions. This does not affect your ownership of User Content or lawful references to Narrin products.
You may voluntarily provide feedback and authorize Narrin to use it to improve and develop products without compensation. This permission does not transfer ownership of your private photos, stories, or confidential content. Do not submit confidential business information as general feedback unless a separate agreement applies.
Report copyright concerns to Manfred Maiers, Narrin LLC, 13117 Natchez Ave, Savage, MN 55378, at mmaiers@narrin.io. Identify the work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your authority and contact information, and include the statements and signature required by applicable law. We may notify the affected user and consider a legally valid counter-notice. Repeat infringement may lead to account termination where appropriate.
22 Suspension and termination
We may proportionately suspend or terminate affected access for a material breach, fraud, nonpayment, unlawful conduct, a security threat, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct a remediable issue. Immediate action may be necessary to prevent harm.
If Narrin ends a directly billed annual service for convenience rather than your breach, fraud, or nonpayment, we provide the applicable prorated refund and any stronger mandatory remedy. Apple-billed refund requests remain subject to Apple's process. A breach does not eliminate a refund or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
You may stop using the Services, cancel a subscription, or delete an account using the relevant processes. Uninstalling, signing out, or stopping use does not cancel recurring billing. Rights and obligations intended to survive, such as ownership, lawful record retention, accrued payments, and dispute provisions, survive only to the extent applicable.
23 Warranties and mandatory remedies
To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided as available, without a promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or capable of recovering every file. Metadata and user-entered information may be inaccurate. Applicable implied warranties are disclaimed only where that disclaimer is lawful.
These limitations do not exclude an express product promise or any mandatory quality, conformity, security, support, warranty, refund, or consumer remedy. Narrin remains responsible for the obligations the law places on it. Apple software-license warranty provisions are governed by the Standard EULA and applicable law.
24 Liability and indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Narrin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising from the Services, including lost profits, business interruption, or loss of goodwill. This does not exclude recoverable direct losses or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
For service claims governed by these Terms, and only where lawful, Narrin's aggregate liability is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount paid for the affected Service in the preceding 12 months. For a Lifetime Plan, the purchase price for that plan is used instead. Amounts paid through an authorized app store count as amounts paid for the Service. Apple app licensing matters remain subject to the Standard EULA.
No exclusion or cap applies where prohibited, including applicable liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other nonwaivable liability. Mandatory consumer and data-protection rights are preserved.
Where legally enforceable, you are responsible for third-party claims and reasonable resulting costs caused by your unlawful use, culpable material breach, or infringement of another person's rights. This does not require indemnification for Narrin's own breach or wrongdoing. We give reasonable notice and do not settle a claim imposing an admission or nonmonetary obligation on you without your consent.
25 Additional Apple provisions
Narrin is the provider of Studio and View. Apple is not a party to your service agreement with Narrin and is not responsible for app content, support, or Narrin's obligations. Narrin provides required support and addresses product, legal-compliance, privacy, consumer, and intellectual-property claims attributable to its apps. Applicable Apple responsibilities are not expanded or reduced by these Terms.
The Standard EULA controls App Store app licensing, including applicable warranty and export provisions. If an Apple-distributed app fails to meet an applicable warranty, notify Apple and use its applicable purchase-price refund process. Narrin remains responsible for obligations and remedies assigned to it by law; no disclaimer shifts those obligations to Apple.
You must comply with applicable export and sanctions laws and the representations required by the Standard EULA. Do not use the apps where prohibited by those laws or provide them to restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce the Apple-specific provisions of these Terms as third-party beneficiaries. Those provisions do not confer on Apple responsibility for Narrin's Services. Nothing here restricts usage allowed by the Apple Media Services Usage Rules.
26 Governing law and disputes
Minnesota law governs the service matters covered by these Terms, except where mandatory law or applicable Apple license terms require otherwise. Consumers retain the mandatory protections of their country of residence and any right to bring a claim in a legally protected local court.
For disputes lawfully subject to a contractual forum, the state or federal courts serving Scott County, Minnesota have jurisdiction. This does not override mandatory venue rules or the Standard EULA for matters it governs. Contact legal@narrin.io to seek an informal resolution. Informal discussions do not prevent urgent relief, a regulator complaint, or use of mandatory remedies and do not shorten a legal filing deadline.
27 Notices and changes to these Terms
We may provide account, purchase, security, and legal notices by email, in-app notice, or another legally permitted method. Maintain accurate contact information and retain receipts and accepted terms. Marketing is governed by separate preferences; paid access does not require newsletter consent.
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in services, purchases, or legal requirements. We publish the updated date and provide additional notice and obtain agreement where required. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively remove accrued access, refund, or other purchase rights. Continued use constitutes agreement only where legally sufficient; it does not substitute for consent where a separate affirmative choice is required.
28 General terms and contact
These Terms, the applicable purchase terms, and related policies form the agreement for the relevant Services, subject to mandatory law and applicable Apple terms. They do not remove an earlier express prepaid promise or a separate signed agreement.
If a provision is invalid, the remainder continues to the extent lawful. Failure to enforce a right is not a permanent waiver. You may not assign an account or agreement except as permitted by law or with our authorization, without restricting permitted Apple usage. Narrin may transfer its business and contracts to a successor subject to continuing contractual, privacy, and consumer protections.
Events beyond reasonable control may delay performance, but do not remove statutory duties or remedies. No third party has enforcement rights except as expressly provided here or required by applicable law.
